Setting Your Availability

Updated March 28, 2026

Why Availability Matters

Students browsing for instructors often filter or prioritize those who show clear availability. Setting your availability accurately reduces back-and-forth messaging and helps students book with confidence.

How to Set Availability

Navigate to Dashboard → Settings → Availability. You can set:

  • Available days — check the days of the week you generally accept lessons
  • Time windows — set a morning, afternoon, or evening preference for each day
  • Blackout dates — mark specific dates when you're unavailable (vacation, tournament, etc.)

Your availability is shown publicly on your profile as general windows ("Available Mon–Fri, mornings and afternoons") rather than a bookable calendar. Students submit a preferred date, and you confirm based on your actual schedule.

Keeping It Updated

Update your availability whenever your schedule changes. If a student submits a request for a day you marked as available but cannot actually accommodate, it creates friction and may affect your response rate.

When you're going on vacation or taking time off, add blackout dates in advance. This prevents new requests from coming in during that window.

Notification Settings

In Dashboard → Settings → Notifications, you can control whether you receive request alerts via email, SMS, or both. Keeping at least one notification channel active ensures you don't miss incoming requests and can respond within the 24-hour window.
